Chocolate Heaven

As a kid I always despised change, which also involved trying new things. Ever since we were little my brother and I would eat dinner at my grandma’s house every Friday night and then eat ice cream for dessert. He would always eat chocolate ice cream while I only ate vanilla because it was the single flavor I had ever tasted. This arrangement continued for nearly five years until one day Joseph decided he wanted to try vanilla. I was utterly confused on why he had chosen to change our usual pattern and for some reason this angered me. I was annoyed that he was eating my flavor therefore I figured he would be furious if I ate his favorite flavor, chocolate. I remember storming off into the kitchen, grabbing the pint of chocolate ice cream, scooping up a large sum of it on my spoon and eating.

At first I thought it would taste extremely awful but then I felt different. The rich creamy taste sent my taste buds on a wonderful journey to chocolate heaven. It had such a sweet taste, smooth as silk texture, warm brown color, a pleasantly enticing smell .It was as if my hands were moving on their own and soon I found myself eating another spoonful and another and another. Soon I felt my teeth chatter due to the freezing temperature in my mouth. When I looked down I noticed that I had already finished half the pint and decided to put it back in the freezer before my parents found out. Then I ran back to my grandma’s room where Joseph was watching cartoons and hugged the life out of him. I even learned that chocolate is healthier than most flavors. Flavanols, a key ingredient of dark chocolate, boosts blood flow to key areas of the brain for two to three hours. Ever since that day I have tried all thirty one flavors Baskin Robins has to offer and out of all of them chocolate is and will always be number one. The best trait about chocolate is that there are also different kinds (dark chocolate, chocolate fudge. etc.). Chocolate has been the number one flavor in my heart and I know it will always remain that way because to me I believe that chocolate ice cream is God’s way of giving us happiness.

  1. I cannot believe the only reason you ever liked chocolate is because you wanted to get revenge against Joseph. Most people would say they liked the way it looked or someone asked them to taste it. I do not believe you eat chocolate because it is healthier than other flavors. I think people eat ice cream for the taste and do not care about their health.

  3. Vana! Good work.Your ice cream is simple but the way you described it was great! I love the details, the wording, and the clearity. Youv'e made it easy to understand and added the ethos, logos, pathos. Very well done. Maybe try to be a bit more creative next time. Other than that great work!
